Foodie’s Diary: Maxims – Half a Century of Yuminess!

Karachi has some pretty decent places to eat, and one of the oldest and the most well-known steak houses is known as Maxims. Maxims has been around since almost 44 years and they have seen their fair share of good and bad times. Their customers are loyal, and new customers like me have found a fondness of their super tender steaks at awesome prices.

Located near Motta’s super store and right around the corner from Food Center, Maxims is easy to find and has plenty of parking around the area. The branding is not very eye catching, and while going in you may feel you are going to a place that has been around for decades. It is not ‘new’.

The interior is no different, clean, bright and tidy but has chairs that would be best suited to a vintage era. But one doesn’t go there for ambiance; they go there for their special food.

They also have pretty amazing lunch deals, which are so economical that it is hard not to get drawn. We ordered two deals, which were:

Deal 1 @ Rs. 380 : Any steak & any drink. We chose their Mushroom Steak (Medium) with an extra cheese topping and water.

Deal 2 @ Rs. 490: Any soup, butter fried fish or Steak along with Ice cream or tea. We chose seafood chowder; butter fried fish and chocolate ice cream

Served hot, it was decent, with an appreciable amount of seafood; though I have had better soups this one was not bad. I would order again.

Hot, tender and super delicious. Absolutely delicious!

Ordered at medium temperature, served to perfection, the steak was tender, had just the right amount of seasoning and was yum. Sizzling & mouthwatering!

Maxims is definitely worth a visit if you are looking for good quality steaks at a super price. The service I must say was amazing too. This is the restaurant where you want to enjoy awesome food over some quiet time with your friends, colleagues or loved ones. Away from the noise, it is a no nonsense place.
